Hello everyone
I just got a call from a patient who was diagnosed nephrotic syndrome. Her ankle is swollen now . I would like to treat her with MLD . I am uncertain, but as far as I remember this is not a contra indication . I am grateful for Information Barbara

Yes I know . She was only recently diagnosed and during the next weeks she will undergo more tests to clarify possible causes.
In the meantime I wanted to treat her swollen ankle and foot, to relief the discomfort . Would you advice against it ? Thanks Barbara

Hello Dr.Martin thanks for your interest. Yes, the MLD brought the edema down , ( she was able to wear her normal shoes again )It relieved the heavy feeling and made it possible for her to walk normal. An underlying cause could not be verified through the test results . She is on medication now and the edema nearly gone ( slight swelling sometimes).
At the time of the diagnosis she was in a very stress full situation , which ( doctors suggestion) might be the cause for the nephrotic syndrom all together. As we say in German : das ging ihr an die Nieren ( this goes down to my kidneys )

I am still a bit worried about her ( not the edema) She lost a lot of weight. I hope everything will work out ok for her
